Creative Copes
A Podcast
Welcome to our Creative Copes Podcast Website. We are two friends wanting to inform, educate and raise awareness into our ways of Creatively Coping with mental and physical limitations. We hope to add flavor and color into the bland landscape of chronic and invisible illness. Through wit, crazy and sometimes dark humor, we will explore how to channel our energy through creative means while searching for balance and flow to stay sane with dynamic disabilities.
Here you will find links to our published episodes, descriptions and links to information that we may have touched upon, all of our contact information for you to submit emails, questions, suggestions or relevant content and the multitude of platforms we are streaming on (complete with links to each). You will also find a section titled Wisdom Walks... This is our blog that condenses our podcast information into bite size servings with some Jen-Anecdotes thrown in for dessert.

Jen & Mita
Creatively Coping through a life with mental and physical limitations.
The Backstory of Jen
A Connecticut girl transplanted into a Florida world, Jen is a 44 year old chick who loves people either whispering sweet nothings into her ears (ASMR JUNKIE) or screaming their balls off (in the form of the coveted Vocal Fry Technique, that doesn't necessarily suit her voice, but she loves it anyway). She loves music and people and everything zen. She speaks in song lyrics and doubts herself constantly, as you will hear in her unsure moments when she repeats "YESSSS" and "Absolutely" to sway you away from her uncertainty. Complete with Agoraphobia, Panic/Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, severe spinal cord injury, as well as a host of other diagnoses, she tries her hardest to smile despite some of the dark days and uses laughter as a coping strategy.
The Backstory of Mita
Mita is 42 year old imported goods from Sweden living in Illinois since 16 years with her American husband and their 3 children. She’s the polyglot introvert of the pair, and prefers to observe than participate in crowded situations; quality over quantity is her motto 98% of the time, unless it’s regarding chocolate, then quality + quantity = important! Mita needs her morning coffee and is of the opinion that ‘The Mug You Drink Out Of Matters’, and wishes life was more like a musical where everyone randomly bursts out in song. She’s been dealing with anxiety all her life and 8 years ago she was in a car accident that set her down the path to be diagnosed with several physical chronic illnesses: fibromyalgia, occipital neuralgia, chronic migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome and other added syndromes as a cherry on top. Mita, however, is determined to not let it define her and intends to live life as fully as she is physically capable of.
Together, this Dynamic Duo hope to have a positive impact in people's lives and to actively contribute to end the stigma of invisible illness and bring more awareness to chronic physical and mental disorders, one podcast episode at a time.
